For all the women who are being nagged every day to get married or have children because they’re crossing the ‘age’, science has finally backed us stating that unmarried and women without kids are the happiest.
A study suggested by the American Time Use Survey (ATUS) mentioned that single and women with no children are the happiest and will live longer as opposed to the ones who are married and have children. It stated that the measure of success does not correlate with happiness, especially marriage and children.
A leading expert in happiness quoted,
Married people are happier than other population subgroups, but only when their spouse is in the room when they’re asked how happy they are. When the spouse is not present: fucking miserable.
While women’s health remains unaffected by marriage, with middle-aged married women even being at higher risk of physical and mental conditions than their single counterparts, men supposedly ‘calm down’. They take fewer risks, earn more money at work and of course! live longer.
So for all those parents running after their daughters with a matrimony website, here’s the cue for letting them be. I mean, we have science backing us up now, what more proof is needed.
