1. Worrying way too much

Excessive worrying about day-to-day chores is a hallmark of generalized anxiety disorder, especially if it interferes with your daily life and persists almost daily for at least six months. 

 2. Restlessness 

Restlessness alone is not enough to diagnose an anxiety disorder, but it can be one symptom, especially if it occurs frequently. 

3. Feeling agitated 

If a person experiences a rapid heartbeat, sweating, shaking and dry mouth, he must be suffering from anxiety. However, it can also be labeled as anxiety disorder if this type of arousal is experienced for an extended period of time. 

4. Tense muscles 

Not many of you might know it but muscle tension has a strong link to anxiety. Though the direct relationship between the two is still not well understood, excessive muscle tension can be a symptom of anxiety disorder. 

5. Partial or complete insomnia  

It is a very common fact that when a person is experiencing anxiety, he or she finds it difficult to sleep. But, if this continues for a longer duration, there can be chances of a person suffering from anxiety  disorder. 

6. Irrational fears 

Irrational fears that interrupt daily functioning may be a sign of a specific phobia. There are many types of phobias, but all involve avoidance behavior and feelings of extreme fear. 

7. Difficulty in concentrating

Difficulty in concentrating can be one sign of an anxiety disorder, and it is a reported symptom in the majority of people diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.
