A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man who befriended her on Facebook and called her for a meeting on the pretext of getting her a job in south Delhi’s Saket, report PTI.
The woman, a resident of southeast Delhi, claimed the suspect invited her to a five-star hotel on Monday evening at Select City Mall on Press Enclave Road, reports IANS.
According to a report by The Times Of India, the survivor had met the accused Sonu Singh on Facebook. Since she was desperately looking for a job, the accused offered to help her. He fixed a meeting with her at a five star hotel.
After they had lunch, the accused offered her cold drink which was allegedly laced with sedatives. When she felt dizzy, the accused offered to drop her home. The accused then took her to his car in the parking lot and then raped her.
The accused is yet to be arrested as the police is waiting for the victim to record her statement before a magistrate. The police are scanning the CCTV footage of the mall.
