Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, unveiled her new look and name on the latest cover of Vanity Fair . She also started a new Twitter account using her new name and it amassed more than a million followers within four hours.

Caitlyn Jenner was born William Bruce Jenner on October 28, 1949 in Mount Kisco, New York. While identifying as a man, she tasted success after winning the decathlon in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

Later, Bruce Jenner became a household name as the step-dad to the Kardashians, also appearing regularly on E! channel's Keeping Up with the Kardashians .

The completion of Caitlyn Jenner's transition is naturally, a big deal, not just for trans people but for everyone who believes a person has the right to identify as any gender he or she prefers.

Even the President of US congratulated Caitlyn on Twitter.
