Cancer is not just something that affects the diagnosed but it also consumes the friends and family who care for that person. Actor Ken Jeong, from T he Hangover trilogy and Community , knows this too well.

Shortly after the birth of their twin daughters, Jeong’s wife, Tran, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. This was around the time he was offered the role of Mr. Chow in The Hangover . It was Tran who convinced him to take up the role, saying it could be therapeutic for him. “You’re undergoing caregiver burnout right now”, she told him.

Jeong shares his deeply personal and yet universal story as part of Ken Burns Films’ Cancer Story Wall .
