Motorhead founder, singer and bass player Lemmy Kilmister passed away today at the age of 70, two days after receiving a cancer diagnosis. He was a legend, making waves in the fields rock and metal music. Lemmy wore a lot of leather, drank a lot of beer and played a lot of great music.

To commemorate his death, here’s 10 of Motorhead’s most famous song.

1. Ace Of Spades

This song’s got it all, a spanking guitar riff, an immediately recognisable bassline and a drum groove so frenzied it could start a riot. I love it.

2. Hellraiser

Released in 1991, Lemmy can be seen in the video for this song rocking out while Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies goes about his business. They were still burning bright in the 90s.

3. Motorhead

Another relentless and hardcore track by the masters, Lemmy’s signature bass tone is easy listening in the intro. And that chorus is inimitable rock n roll badassness.

4. Dancing On Your Grave

This isn’t a ballad by any means, but that intro does get into the feel of one. One of the more melodic tracks from the gents at Motorhead.

5. Iron Fist

A frenetic lightning bolt of a track standing at just a little less than 3 minutes long. Blast this if you’re dozing off and need a dose of legal speed.

6. The Game

The song that was immortalised as the entry music for WWE wrestler Triple H was made by none other than Motorhead. Very befitting.

7. Bomber

This is one of my personal favourites, thanks in no small part to that blissful mix of hard blues and metal that Motorhead is known for.

8. Orgasmatron

Lemmy claimed to have slept with more than 1000 women, so the name of this track is kind of self explanatory.

9. Built For Speed

This is one of those songs that just reinforces the fact that Lemmy and the band didn’t give a damn. Throwing the hammer down hard.

10. Overkill

The intro is all you need to hear to let your inner punk out. Mad drums and that signature strained growl via Lemmy make this a must listen.
