First editions of literary greats are valuable collectibles and and so is the case with the tale of the boy wizard, more so because it contains a small typo. 

As ITV reported, the list of required magical equipment young wizards and witches need to bring with them to Hogwarts, the school made a small error by mentioning 1 wand twice. That or they probably needed to emphasize that the wand is a mandatory requirement.

Only 500 copies out of the 4 million sold worldwide since 1997 have this error and are poised to sell for a fortune at Bonhams Fine Books and Manuscripts in London this November.

The Independent reported that rare book connoisseur Abebooks has listed out what can make your copy a serious collectible worth a whopping amount. If your hardcover book has the print line 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 and the name as Joanne Rowling instead of J.K Rowling, then it’s a first edition first issue copy and can fetch $40,000 to $55,000. Paperback first editions were scarce and can be sold for five figure amounts if it is in good condition.
