It was Karibeeran Parameswaran's birthday on the 26th of December, 2004, when he lost his three children to a tsunami. The grieving couple was planning to commit suicide, but then, a shining light in the form of caring for the less fortunate, gave them a real reason to carry on. Today the couple takes care of 40 orphaned children in their home.
When Karibeeran participated in KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati), with his wife, he was asked by the host, Amitabh Bachchan, about the fateful day, and his tale put more than a tear in the eyes of everyone watching. Here's Karibeeran Parameswaran narrating his story:
