Collateral Beauty releasing this Christmas season, has a heavy star-studded ensemble featuring prominent actors like Will Smith, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Michael Pena, Kate Winslet, Edward Norton and Naomie Harris, with an equally formidable team behind the movie with David Frankel as director, Allan Loeb as scriptwriter and Michael Sugar, as one of the producers best remembered for Spotlight.
Will Smith, the protagonist is an advertising executive who spirals into acute depression after his daughter's death. He firmly believes that Love, Time and Death is the connecting factor in human beings, "We long for love, we wish we had more time, and we fear death.", he says. As a form of release he writes letters to Time, Love and Death, angry that he has been betrayed by them. Cue the concepts of Time, Love and Death personified as people who he runs into, beautiful, scenic backdrops and tumbling colourful dominoes. The movie is sticky-sweet with undercurrents of hope as Smith tries to reclaim the beautiful side of life.
The movie hits the screens on 16th December this year, if you fancy a watch.
