The trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s Hindi original Mirzapur released today, and it is a tale of revenge, gore, and violence that is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Set in the town of Mirzapur, the trailer showcases the flourishing gun trade that exists under the watchful eye of Kaleen Bhaiya played by the forever fabulous Pankaj Tripathi.

The mafia ruler of the small town proudly claims that it is not respect for him, but fear of him that helps him rule the town with an iron fist – something that his son is yet to grasp.

Cocaine snorting, quick-to-anger, and even quicker to react, Munna played by Divyendu Sharma is the young son with a thirst to prove himself.

However, his power fuelled action brings him and his father at loggerheads with two brothers, played by Ali Fazal and Vikrant Massey.

It may appear that there is clear distinction amongst the brothers as to who plays the brains and who plays the brawn, but the trailer definitely hints that there is more to the situation than what meets the eye.

A violent drama characterized by emotions running on revenge and powerful dialogues makes up the almost 3-minute long trailer.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the show also stars Rasika Duggal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Shweta Tripathi.

The trailer has definitely raised our expectations. With a stellar star cast on board, the hope that the show will deliver does not seem unfounded in the least.
