Dashrath Manjhi is legendary. A resident of Gaya, Bihar; he carved a path right through a mountain using just a hammer and chisel; all by himself (!!!). Residents of the Gehlaur village would have to travel around the hill to reach the nearest doctor.
After losing his wife to the treacherous mountain paths, Manjhi took on the task of carving out a shorter route. He managed to bring down the distance between the two neighbouring villages from 55 to a whopping 15kms!
