The name of the 6-year-old has not been revealed, as Santiago claimed that he had purchased the weapon for protection from members of a gang called Spanish Cobras, which he was previously associated with. He showed the gun to his son saying it was only for adults.

The rising gun culture in the US coupled with such extreme negligence can have dire consequences for the country's children as well.
