The oath-taking ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ministers took place moments ago. Modi took oath of office first, followed by Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
The swearing-in ceremony is ongoing at Rashtrapati Bhawan, and they are being administered the oath by President Ram Nath Kovind.
The event is being attended not just by politicians like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, but also by a large number of foreign leaders and celebrities.
Amit Shah, who has been the BJP President since 2014, is expected to be a part of PM Modi’s cabinet.
A record 8000 guests are attending the swearing-in event.
