Alexa, play ‘Yeh Dosti’, I’ve found the real-life Jai-Veeru.

Do you remember who your oldest friend from school was? That one person who has been your best friend since the end of time? That one friend you CANNOT imagine living without?

In the fast-paced world that we’re living in, we often forget to take a minute and look back at the friendships that have stood the ravages of time, struggles and life.

But this wholesome post by Humans of Bombay about a BFF duo

will make you appreciate the sacred bond you share with your childhood buddy.

I’m not even kidding when I say this, they remind us of Jai and Veeru from Sholay

ScoopWhoop

The duo’s friendship dates back to 67 years, they first met in school. They both were backbenchers, bored out of their heads when they exchanged their names and became friends.

We met for the first time in school…67 years back. I vividly remember, I was sitting alone on the last bench — with no interest in what was going on in class.

From tiffins to notes they have shared everything.

The BFF duo has sat together every single day since the day they met. With barely any fights or bickering, they’ve managed to strengthen their bond.

In fact, their children are now good friends too.

From an entire group of friends they’d hang out with, the duo is the only one who’ve still managed to stick around, while other friendships from the group have perished.

One of the BFFs mentioned how he has a tendency to stress out a lot and ever since their childhood days his BFF has been giving him the same advice:

Kha, pee aur maze kar.

One of the BFFs gives us major goals when he gave us a million-dollar piece of advice while narrating his story:

Sometimes all you need is an old friend, to remind you that some things remain the same and do last forever.

What started off as a casual backbencher friendship in school has now become their entire life.

“We met for the first time in school…67 years back. I vividly remember, I was sitting alone on the last bench — with no interest in what was going on in class. He came and sat next to me, and smiled — that was that! We told each other our names, and sat together every single day — until today. We’ve shared our notes, our tiffins and now even our kids are friends. You won’t believe, but we’ve rarely fought. We had an entire group of friends, but out of all of them — we’re the only two who’ve stuck around. I get stressed out very easily — and his favourite dialogue for me is, ‘Kha, pee aur maze kar’. In a world where things are moving so fast, people are changing and you don’t even have time for yourself — sometimes all you need is an old friend, to remind you that some things remain the same and do last forever.”
