It doesn’t matter whether it’s Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger or Jared Leto who plays him on screen. The Joker was immortalized on screen during the ye old days of the Batman animated series which used to air on Cartoon Network.

I can’t speak for anyone else but that was the show which introduced me to the world of graphic novels, be it DC or Marvel.

It was that Batman, and more importantly, that Joker in his trademark purple suit and menacing voice which were burned into mine and many others memories.

So when we came across this video of Mark Hamill, the original voice of The Joker, read out a dialogue from the upcoming film ‘The Killing Joke’ based on the one-shot written by Alan Moore we just had to share it.

It sent jitters down the spine in a way neither Ledger’s iteration did or Leto’s iteration will. Goes to show that Hamill always was and always will be the original crown prince of crime.
